A formal request for a party to clarify or provide additional information about any matter which is in dispute in the proceedings. The detailed provisions are set out in CPR 18. Note that the court can order a party to respond if it does not do so voluntarily. A response to a CPR 18 request is classed as a statement of case under the CPR and must therefore be verified by a statement of truth.
