Overseas companies: registration of charges created on and from 1 October 2009 to and on 30 September 2011

A checklist setting out the provisions that govern the registration of charges created by overseas companies on or after 1 October 2009 (but before 1 October 2011).  These provisions are contained in the Overseas Companies (Execution of Documents and Registration of Charges) Regulations 2009 (SI 2009/1917) (Regulations).

The regime for registration of charges created by overseas companies was changed by the Overseas Companies (Execution of Documents and Registration of Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 (SI 2011/2194) (2011 OC Regulations) which came into force on 1 October 2011.  The 2011 OC Regulations mean that a charge created by an overseas company on or after 1 October 2011 will not be registrable at Companies House. For more information, see Practice note, Registration of charges created by companies and limited liability partnerships on or after 1 October 2009: Do charges created by overseas companies need to be registered?.
