In Milton Keynes Council v A, B, X and Y (Muslim children, Special Guardianship) [2014] EWFC B102, the Family Court directed the local authority to consider special guardianship outside the family for two Muslim children. The court was concerned that the pool of possible adopters would be narrowed, given the belief of some Muslims that adoption is unacceptable.
