Approved profit sharing scheme

A type of tax-advantaged all-employee share scheme allowing employees to receive a share of the profit made by the business, in addition to their salary. These were approved by HMRC until April 2001. They were replaced by share incentive plans ( www.practicallaw.com/3-107-7252) .
