Arrange transport and placement before applying for collection order (High Court)

In London Borough of Brent v K [2015] EWHC 658 (Fam), Newton J strongly criticises the local authority for misleading the court about the transport and placement arrangements following recovery of a teenager who had absconded from care. The lack of the arrangements led to the child being in police custody for over seven hours. A warning is given to local authorities considering an application for a collection order.
