Current fees

The Land Registration Fee Order 2012 (SI 2012/1969) (www.practicallaw.com/1-520-6948) (LR Fee Order 2012) came into force on 22 October 2012, replacing the Land Registration Fee Order 2009 (SI 2009/845) (LR Fee Order 2009).

Calculation and payment of fees

You can use the Land Registry Online Fee Calculator to calculate fees payable: calculator (www.practicallaw.com/4-106-6026). This has been updated to reflect the provisions of the LR Fee Order 2012.

The calculator employs a simple three-stage process that allows users to choose their type of application, enter the value of the transaction, indicate if the application relates to a first registration of unregistered land, and then calculate the value of fees payable.

A breakdown of fees payable for various transactions made via the Land Registry online portal is available on the Portal fees (www.practicallaw.com/5-506-6470) page and for certain online and other forms of submission, in the Information services fees (www.practicallaw.com/3-506-6471) publication.

Payment of Land Registry fees by Direct Debit

The Land Registry accepts payment of fees by Direct Debit.

Enquiries on how to arrange payments by Direct Debit should be sent to e-receivables@landregistry.gsi.gov.uk, including your name, organisation, address, telephone number and existing credit account number (if appropriate).
