Activity condition

A condition attached to a final child arrangements order ( www.practicallaw.com/6-568-0646) that makes or varies an order to make any of the following provisions:

  • For a child to live with different persons at different times.

  • Regulating arrangements about whom a child is to spend time or otherwise have contact with.

  • Regulating arrangements about when a child is to spend time or otherwise have contact with any person.

A child arrangements order can impose or be varied to impose an activity condition on any of the following persons to take part in an activity that helps to establish, maintain or improve the involvement in the life of the child of that person or another party to proceedings:

  • For the purposes of the child arrangements order, the person with whom the child lives or is to live.

  • The person whose contact with the child is provided for in the child arrangements order.

  • A person on whom the child arrangements order imposes a condition under section 11(7)(b) of the Children Act 1989 (CA 1989)).

The condition will specify the activity and the person providing the activity. Activity conditions replaced contact activity conditions on 22 April 2014.
