High Court orders summary return of child to Lithuania despite mother’s impending due date

In Re LS (A child) [2015] EWHC 2824 (Fam), the High Court ordered the summary return of a child to Lithuania, despite the impending birth of the child's step-sibling. The court declined to delay implementation of the order by six weeks. To do so, would have run contrary to policy reasons underpinning the Hague Convention on civil aspects of international child abduction of 25 October 1980 (1980 Hague Convention) and Council Regulation (EC) 2201/2003 (Brussels II Revised).
