Association of British Insurers (ABI)

The trade association for the UK's insurance industry. The ABI has over 250 member companies, accounting for over 90% of the UK insurance market. The ABI publishes research reports and policy documents. It co-ordinates and represents the interests of its members as investors and it assists its members with corporate governance issues by responding to public consultation exercises by relevant bodies.

The Investment Affairs division of the ABI merged with the Investment Management Association (IMA), the trade body for the UK asset management industry, in 2014. The IMA then changed its name to The Investment Association.

For further information, see the ABI website.
