Letter of advice on conducting a disciplinary investigation and hearing

This standard document can form the basis of a letter from a legal adviser to an employer, outlining the main steps and considerations in investigating possible misconduct or poor performance and, if necessary, carrying out a disciplinary hearing and appeal. The letter takes into account the Standard Dismissal and Disciplinary Procedures in the Employment Act 2002 and the Acas Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures.
