This practice note provides an overview of Basel 2.5 (also referred to as Basel II.5), a set of major reforms to Basel II that were agreed in July 2009. The Basel 2.5 reforms included measures relating to securitisation and trading book exposures and are due to be implemented by 31 December 2011.
