Government to introduce enhanced transparency requirements including a new FOIA Code of Practice

On 12 May 2016, the government published the UK Open Government National Action Plan 2016-18. This is intended to continue the implementation of the government’s manifesto commitment to maximise openness and transparency in government operations and includes a commitment to publish a new code of practice under section 45 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
