Above the line

Advertising which appears in press and magazines, as well as on television and on radio. On client invoices advertising agencies historically charged for advertising in the media “above the line” and for the agency’s creative and advisory work “below the line”. This distinction now rarely appears because below the line work is generally handled by separate subsidiaries of advertising groups or specialist companies.
