Costs in the case

A court order at the end of an interim application in litigation, or other part of proceedings, that the costs of that application, or part of proceedings, will be in favour of the party who is successful (and in favour of whom a costs order is made) at the end of the proceedings. The costs are paid by the party which loses (and against whom a costs order is made) at the end of the proceedings (PD 44.4.2). See further, Checklist: Costs orders commonly made.
