The Equality Act 2010 (EqA 2010), most of which came into force on 1 October 2010 (see Equality Act 2010: tracker (www.practicallaw.com/7-386-0183)), was intended to harmonise and simplify discrimination law while also making a number of significant changes. It repealed the Equal Pay Act 1970, Sex Discrimination Act 1975, Race Relations Act 1976, Disability Discrimination Act 1995, Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003, Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003, and Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 (except schedule 6).
The tables below set out the destinations for key employment law provisions of the old discrimination legislation, with links to the EqA 2010 and PLC practice notes on the new law.
