Rare example of court setting aside own rulings (High Court)

In Deutsche Bank AG and others v Unitech Global Ltd and others [2014] EWHC 3117 (Comm), the court considered whether to set aside its own earlier rulings under CPR 3.1(7) or to give permission to appeal against those rulings, and whether to order the defendants to make a payment into court or to make an interim payment to the claimants.
The Court of Appeal unanimously upheld an appeal against Teare J’s decision dismissing the claimants' application for a payment into court under CPR 24 or CPR 3 or, in the alternative, an interim payment under CPR 25 (Deutsche Bank AG and others v Unitech Global Ltd and another [2016] EWCA Civ 119, discussed in Legal update, Court's power to make leave to defend conditional on payment in or interim payment (Court of Appeal).
