In Bishop v Chhokar [2015] EWCA Civ 24, the Court of Appeal considered an application under CPR 52.17, to reopen a refusal to grant permission to appeal a County Court judgment. The court gave guidance on the requirement that there is no alternative remedy to reopening the appeal.
