No duty of care to parents for invalid consent to section 20 voluntary accommodation (High Court)
In Williams and another v London Borough of Hackney [2015] EWHC 2629 (QB), the invalid consent to the children becoming voluntarily accommodated under section 20 of the Children Act 1989, constituted a violation of the parents' rights under Article 8 of the European Convention of Human Rights, but was not a breach of a duty of care towards the parents.
