Court of Appeal fees to increase from 18 April 2016

The fees for bringing appeals in civil proceedings before the Court of Appeal will increase from 18 April 2016.
The Court of Appeal and Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) Fees (Amendment) Order 2016 (SI 2016/434) was made on 17 March 2016 and comes into force on 18 April 2016. The order increases the fees for bringing appeals in civil proceedings before the Court of Appeal:
  • The fee payable on an application for permission to appeal or for an extension of time for appealing will increase from £235 to £528.
  • The fee payable on filing an appeal notice where permission to appeal is not required or has been granted will increase from £465 to £1,199.
  • The fee payable on filing an appeal questionnaire will increase from £465 to £1,199.
  • The fee payable on filing a respondent’s notice will increase from £235 to £528.
  • The fee payable on filing an application notice will increase from £235 to £528.
