Chapter 7

This is a US bankruptcy term. The chapter of the US Bankruptcy Code (www.practicallaw.com/8-384-9760) dealing with the liquidation of all of a company's property. In a corporate Chapter 7 case, the proceeds are distributed to creditors without continuing the debtor's business.
