In Re B and G (Children) (No 2) [2015] EWFC 3, Munby P confirmed that female genital mutilation in whatever form will satisfy the threshold criteria under section 31 of the Children Act 1989. He gave both legal and social work professionals guidance on medical examinations carried out as part of the investigations into a possible FGM case.
