Assignation

The Scottish law equivalent of an English law assignment ( www.practicallaw.com/1-107-6442) . It is the means by which a fixed charge ( www.practicallaw.com/0-107-5768) may be taken over incorporeal moveable assets in Scotland. An assignation must be intimated ( www.practicallaw.com/resource.do?item=:25332975) in order for a security interest to be created in the asset.
