In Hockley v North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (unreported) (19 September 2014), the Kingston upon Hull Civil Appeal Centre considered whether the guidance on relief from sanctions set out in Mitchell and Denton applies to applications to set aside a default judgment. The judge also gave guidance as to when telephone hearings are appropriate.
