Town and parish councils will have power to submit proposals using Sustainable Communities Act, following consultation

On 13 May 2013, the Department for Communities and Local Government published the outcome of the consultation on whether to extend to town and parish councils the existing arrangements that allow local authorities to submit "barrier busting" proposals to the government under the Sustainable Communities Act 2007. The report announced that the government will extend these arrangements to town and parish councils.
