Can the subtenant claim a new lease under the LTA 1954?

I have a couple of queries that I am hoping you can help with: (1) Where a tenant of a lease within the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 (LTA 1954) has sublet the whole of the property, thereby losing its security of tenure, can the subtenant serve a section 26 request on the landlord instead of the tenant? (2) If the subtenant did not serve a section 26 request and then in the holding over period (after expiry of the term under the tenant's lease and the sublease), the tenant enters into a new lease with the landlord, this time contracted out, how will this affect the subtenant who has a sublease that is not contracted out? Can the subtenant insist on a renewal lease that is within the LTA 1954?
