What's on Practical Law?
Practical Law may have moderated questions and answers before publication. No answer to a question is legal advice and no lawyer-client relationship is created between the person asking the question and the person answering it. Where appropriate, you should consult your own lawyer for legal advice. Practical Law's employees are not practising solicitors or barristers. The Ask scope and rules apply.

Can the postponement (by a month) of a proposed trial start date have a big impact on the importance of a Part 36 offer that was made just eight days before the now superseded proposed trial start date?

Q:
The proposed trial start date was only seven days away/next week. However, that proposed trial start date has today been postponed by a month. Bearing in mind CPR 36.17(7), might the postponement potentially have a big impact on the importance of the Part 36 offer that was made by one of the parties only yesterday?
