
John Hughes D'Aeth is a partner and head of the commercial construction group at BLP. He has over 20 years' experience of advising developers, funders, utilities and public bodies on procurement strategy and the drafting and negotiation of construction documentation for major building and engineering projects in the UK and overseas. He has acted for both private consortia and the public sector in relation to numerous PFI projects in the accommodation, health, education and transport sectors. He is a member of the City of London Law Society's Construction Law Practice Committee. Major clients include Thames Water, National Grid, Tesco and the Highways Agency.

Lynne McCafferty of 4 Pump Court is recommended as a leading junior in construction law in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, where she is described as a rising star, highly-rated by judges. As well as construction and engineering disputes, Lynne acts on energy, IT law, professional negligence and insurance matters.
In the construction field, Lynne has extensive experience in a wide range of domestic and international construction litigation, arbitration and adjudication proceedings. She acts on behalf of employers, contractors and sub-contractors in major construction and engineering disputes, and regularly appears in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC).

Iain Murdoch joined PLC in January 2007 from Taylor Wessing, where he was a senior associate in the construction and engineering group. Iain specialises in non-contentious construction law, including contract negotiation and advisory work, but has also advised on the pre-action stages of construction disputes, the settlement of disputes and adjudications. He trained at Lewis Silkin before joining Speechly Bircham following qualification, where he completed a part-time secondment to an international construction and engineering contractor's in-house legal department. Iain is head of PLC Construction and a member of the Society of Construction Law. Iain is currently a non-practising solicitor.
