PLC Web Parts enables your lawyers and legal information professionals to quickly access different sections of PLC's online services through your sites and portal areas. This tool is available to all PLC subscribers at no extra cost.
PLC Web Parts is comprised of three components:
The PLC Documents Web Part is designed to look like a standard SharePoint® document library. It provides links to PLC's maintained library of practice notes, precedents, clauses and drafting notes.
You can select documents by practice area, jurisdiction and resource type from any of PLC's online services. New documents created by PLC that match the selection criteria will appear automatically and the links will always take you to the most recent, maintained version.
The PLC Documents Web Part can be used on the same page as other Web Parts. This means that you can create practice area-specific pages and provide fee earners with a single place from which to access internal and external content.
The PLC Taxonomy Web Part accelerates the process of building a knowledge base in Microsoft SharePoint®, by displaying the standard PLC taxonomy in a familiar file manager format.
By default the Web Part allows users to select some or all of the PLC taxonomy and link through to practice area topics within PLC's online services.
The Web Part can also be used by legal information professionals to edit PLC's standard taxonomy, add their own classifications and create links to different resources.
PLC provides RSS feeds for each web service, which alert users to major developments and changes in market practice. The PLC Updates Web Part allows you to display these PLC RSS feeds on relevant pages in SharePoint® sites and portal areas.
In addition you can email links to colleagues, rate articles, make comments and print individual items.
Your company's internal IT staff can easily install the Web Parts by following written instructions provided by PLC. You retain complete control over your company’s systems.
