Information Tribunal holds National Archives not required to disclose details of Soviet Union defectors

The First-tier Tribunal, confirming the Information Commissioner's decision, has held that details of defectors to and from the Soviet Union were exempt from disclosure under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. (Lownie v Information Commissioner [2016] UKFTT 2015_0282 (GRC), 6 September 2016.)
