ICO fines TalkTalk £400,000 for failing to prevent a cyber attack

The telecoms company, TalkTalk, has been issued with a £400,000 fine by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) for security failings that allowed a cyber attacker to access customer data. The ICO investigation found that an attack on TalkTalk last October could have been prevented had rudimentary cyber security steps been taken.
