Civil appeals from 3 October 2016: updated court forms

Revised civil appeals forms have been released by the Ministry of Justice. This follows rule changes on civil appeals, which took effect on 3 October 2016.
Revised court forms on civil appeals have been released by the Ministry of Justice. This follows changes to the rules on civil appeals, which came into effect on 3 October 2016 (subject to transitional arrangements). Forms include:
  • Revised N161 (Appellant's notice).
  • Revised N162 (Respondent's notice).
  • Revised N161A (Guidance notes on completing form N161 – Appellant's notice (all appeals except small claims track appeals or appeals to the Family Division of the High Court).
All of the above forms are available on our court forms page.
We are still awaiting updated versions of some of the guidance notes. Subscribers will be updated when the remaining forms become available.
