FOIA: refusal of access to information breaches Article 10 of ECHR (European Court of Human Rights)

On 8 November 2016, the European Court of Human Rights held that Hungarian investigation authorities' refusal to provide a non-governmental human rights organisation with the names of criminal defence lawyers it had appointed breached the NGO's rights under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights (Magyar Helsinki Bizottság v Hungary (application no. 18030/11)).
