In Kateb v Howard De Walden Estates Ltd & Anor [2016] EWCA Civ 1176, the Court of Appeal considered whether a competent landlord could agree terms for a lease extension that would bind the intermediate landlord and whether doing so was contrary to the intermediate landlord's human rights.
